I've washed these twice now and the brushed finish hasn't pilled or faded at all, which is rare for cotton. The pebble color is a nice muted grey that works with everything in my bedroom. They feel a bit heavier than your standard pillowcase, but that's exactly why they're so cozy to sleep on.
